Why a solar street light doesn't work?

Possible Reason 1: The ON/OFF Buttion is not turned on.

Most of the solar street lights come with ON/OFF button, and that button needs to be turned ON. In many cases this simple thing is ignored by many people and this is one of the main reasons why the solar lights isn’t working as expected.

 

Possible Reason 2: The wires connections go wrong.

We have to make sure all the wire connections in the whole solar street lights system correct and work normally. Any disconnection among the solar panel, batteries, control driver, light source will cause the failure.

 

Possible Reason 3: The solar panel doesn’t get enough sunlight.

Make sure the street lights solar panel in right location and direction to get direct sun light. Normally a solar light should get 4-5 hours daily direct sun light to effectively charge the batteries and shine brightly during night hours.

Make sure the solar panel surface is clean and neat without anything cover on it.

 

Possible Reason 4: The batteries can’t be charged.

Normally, batteries last for 2 years. If you already own the solar lights for 2 years or more,the batteries don’t hold a charge anymore , need to be replaced.

Other factors like bad quality, or the solar street lights housing have water inside may also lead to the batteries failure.

 

Possible Reason 5: The LED light doesn’t work.

If in daytime check, cover the solar panel or disconnect the solar panel to the solar lights first, in order to turn off the automatic off under light control system. Check if the led controller stop working, or there is any short-circuit in the lamp.
