4 Reasons Why Your Solar Light May Not Be Working

Writer: admin Time:2020-08-26 08:58 Browse:

In the design of solar lights, light control is the highest priority, which means that the solar lights are automatically turned off during the day for charging, and the solar lights are automatically turned on at night. If the solar lights do not turn on at night, generally analyze from the following aspects:

1. Installation error:

We need to check if the installation circuit works, if the connectors are plugged in tightly, because we usually use the male and female connector cables to connect the solar panel and the LED solar lamps. So we need to check if the cables plugged in reverse, it needs to be checked.

2. The solar lights can't charge:

We need to check if the solar panel (photovoltaic panel) is facing the sun when installed, sometimes people locate the solar panel blocked by objects due to the limitation of the installation environment, causing the solar panel cannot be exposed to the sun for a day or for a long time, it will lead to insufficient charging. Some people even put the solar panel in a dark room, which will fail to get sun light to charge the battery.

3. Over-discharge protection:

Most of the current solar lights use lithium batteries. The lithium batteries have an important feature, that is, once they are over-discharged, they will no longer be charged and enter the "dead" protection state, then it doesn’t work. In the design of solar lights, we generally have to install a "protection board" device, but some manufacturers remove the protection board in order to save costs. Due to insufficient light on cloudy and rainy days, excessive discharge at night , Resulting in battery crash protection, and the next day, the solar panel can not charge the battery, so that the solar lights can no longer light up.

4. Moisture corrosion:

An important parameter of outdoor lamps is called the protection level, that is IP65 standard is to prevent rainwater from entering the solar lights lamp body, but in actual applications, it is not enough to meet the IP65 standard. Moisture-proofing of components is also extremely important, especially for solar lights that have been used for a few months, and suddenly stop working, you need to consider whether it is due to moisture, the internal control board or battery device or PCB due to rust and corrosion. Open circuit or short circuit, causing the lamp to not work.
